Location: Orlando, Florida

Housed within The First Academy’s Payne Stewart Athletic Complex is the Orel Hershiser Field, home to the 2021 Florida state Varsity baseball champions! Originally constructed about 20 years ago, the baseball field faced drainage concerns and was susceptible to the Central Florida weather; often affecting the baseball schedule for both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. The leadership at TFA was connected to Advanced Sports Group via a parent at the school and the project was made possible by private donors within the community. Timing was tight in order to complete steps for permitting, environmental accommodations and field construction by the 2022 season opening game in mid-February, but our crews enjoyed the Florida winter weather for about 7 weeks.Installation of almost 120,000 sq feet of Shaw Sports Turf’s TruHop and Momentum products and custom logo, line and graphics packages creates a winning surface for the state champs! Our motivation is always the athletes and families who will enjoy the field and we were thrilled with the opportunity to attend their first home game and some practices after the project was completed. We were able to spend time with the players, coaches and athletic director to get their take on the new field.
