FIELD CREW/CONSTRUCTION LABORER

Position Overview:
Tasks involving physical labor for athletic fields including synthetic turf, drainage, and concrete construction. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces and concrete forms, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. May assist other craft workers.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in sports field projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for drainage pipes and concrete.
  • Assist in set forms and wall panel forms and shovel concrete into construction area
  • Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials
  • Ability to work as part of a crew and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Ability to show up to work on time, be dependable and consistent
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and concrete.

Education, Skills, Abilities:

  • Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in concrete construction work is a plus but not required.
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicant must be 18 years or older at age of application.
  • It is a plus if the individual has or is able to obtain a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record prior to employment.
  • All applicants are required to have a drug test and background check.
  • Travel outside of Georgia is required. Company pays per diem and housing while traveling.
  • Salary: Hourly, based upon experience + expected overtime
  • All employees are required to have an email and bank account for payroll direct deposit.

Work Environment:

  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and concrete
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • The noise in the work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

 

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Position Overview:

Will operate as part of the Field Crew, as well as operate heavy machinery for construction, demolition, or excavation projects.

 

Position Responsibilities:

In addition to Field Crew responsibilities, equipment operator will:

  • Exhibit effective communication, including speaking, writing, active listening and taking instruction
  • Have quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Have advanced knowledge of reading plans and manuals
  • Show excellent mechanical skills, including comfort with using tools to make simple repairs
  • Have keen attention to detail to identify maintenance, product or operations issues.
  • Have ability to stand, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time.
  • Operate construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, or grade tractors.
  • Prepare construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
  • Use excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches used in structural elements.
  • Transport tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites.
  • Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to beginning shift.
  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Education, Skills, Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • OSHA 10 hour course preferred (will also be offered at work periodically)
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work.
  • Ability to accurately interpret plans
  • Proficiency in the safe operation of tractors, excavators and graders

 

Special Requirements:

  • Individual must have a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record prior to employment.
  • Active CDL licensee will be considered first.
