With a phased approach, this entire sports complex was renovated for the DeKalb County community. Many partnerships were crucial to make this project a reality, including Shaw Sports Turf, the Atlanta Braves Foundation and DeKalb County Parks & Recreation department.
Renovations took approximately 15 months in total to complete and included excavation of 8 existing natural turf fields, installation of Shaw Sports Turf on 5 fields, and natural turf for 3 small fields, various fencing, dugouts, portable mounds, and built-in spectator stands. The new fields are home to community little league baseball, softball, peewee football, several Braves RBI teams, and the home field for Morehouse College baseball.
As part of the partnership with the Braves Foundation, this dedication video was created to tell the story of the building of fields 4 & 7. The Braves brought the World Championship trophy to the park as part of the tour and this video shares that.
Installation of over 318,000 sq feet of Shaw Sports Turf’s Legion & TruHop product creates a beautiful and easy to maintain backdrop for Atlanta’s sports legacy. We’re honored to be a part of the sports community in DeKalb County.
